The Java Desktop System

When you log in to JDS, you will notice several features to help you use Solaris.

The desktop icons

  1. This Computer:  opens the file manager to view drives, partitions, and mounted filesystems.

  2. Documents:  opens the file manager to your home directory

  3. Network Places:  like Windoze, shows other computers on the network

  4. Trash:  like the Windoze Recycle Bin

  5. Java Desktop Overview:  online help
